Come and give a ear to what this Angel called -'Woman' has to say!!!

WOMEN HAVE A VOICE TOO

         I remember those Saturday nights when my dear aunt Pratima would lovingly read those amazing fairy tales and also the bed time stories which I took for gospel. Those tales of Cinderella, Alice, Sleeping Beauty, also Mary had a little lamb( my favorite poem of all times) made me feel that being a girl I was also one like them. But alas! This firm belief which I felt, gradually crumbled down like a pack of cards when I was constantly sheltered and protected by my mother during those growing years( no late nights, no chatting over the phone for long hours, no short skirts and the list continues). But what made my mother do that? That’s when it dawned on me that we like in a nation called India. Our country has transformed evolved over the years (that’s what history of India says) but how far have we reached when it comes to women’s liberation, her status, her dignity, her self-respect. Any answers?

        It is such an irony that on one hand our nation religiously worships Goddess Laxmi, Saraswati and Durga and at the other, some monstrous men (beast to be precise) don’t leave an opportunity to rip off a woman of her dignity and self- respect (irrespective of her age). Women off late have been considered as a mere sex object with whom men can fondle, play and throw them away as a used toy. There hasn’t been a single day in recent times when we don’t hear about females being eve teased, molested, raped, attacked with acid and finally slaughtered ruthlessly. Oh!! How can we forget Domestic Violence.Yes, it could happen anywhere, anytime at homes, bus stops, local trains, corporate offices, colleges or even school. Tiny Tots as little as 3 and 5 year old are not spared (my fingers actually tremble by the very thought of typing this fact). Is this the free nation we ever dreamt of?

Break free those hand cuffs.

          I feel it’s payback time. Enough is Enough. Women don’t come in cartons with a label of ‘Be Careful- Fragile and Weak’. Women need to bounce back in vengeance. Let the men know that women don’t need to be just felicitated, honored and showered with bouquets and expensive gifts on ‘International Women’s Day’ all she needs is to be loved and respected for who she is.

          So all the GENTLEMEN out there understand this simple fact that women has a soul just like you, so respect this unique creation of God called- WOMEN. 

           Psst: I have a sparky message to all the beautiful and strong women out there-No woman is required to build the world by destroying herself, so go live your life to the fullest without any fear.
