DO YOU FEAR WHEN EXAMINATION IS NEAR?
Why does the very thought of examination send a chill down
our spine? The minute we talk about examination, our temperament
switches channel instantly and brings a gloomy look on our face. Some even end up
having sweaty palms, cold feet and a tsunami of panic attacks. Ugh!!!!
HAUNTED SLEEP!!!
Who is
actually to be blamed for painting a black picture of the concept
‘EXAMINATION’. Teachers, parents, seniors from our schools and colleges, hype
created by media… Who exactly?? A trend that has not changed since ages is the fear, anxiety, restlessness, angst, nail biting, goose bumps at
the very thought of examination. To top it on if it is a 10th
standard board examination then the levels are going to multiple by default. Infact
even Lord Christ once uttered, "May God not put anybody to test".
If
examinations are dreaded so much what’s the need to have it? Let’s just do away
with it. But on second thoughts don’t you think there must be something to mark
the standards and to judge the ability of the candidates?
I
firmly believe that if one studies because of fear of examination then it is
completely futile and sheer waste of time. It won’t get the best out of you. Examinations
add to our ability, power of toleration, alertness, perseverance and other
good qualities. No wonder I remember one of my friend saying examination is a
‘NECESSARY EVIL’.
I
feel our examination system does have some flaws and that’s the reason why people
say that excelling in exams is a combination of hard work + good luck. But don't forget' THE HARDER YOU TRY THE LUCKIER YOU GET'.
The aim of education should be to equip the students for the tough battle of life, build their character and personality and also widen their horizons.
