Magical Powers Of Reading
Reading, how important and what
does it mean to you? I have always loved to gamble with words right from
childhood days, it gives me some kind of satisfaction and takes me to a
different world like Alice (from the fairy tale ‘Alice in wonderland’). It is
believed that reading books would
enlighten one with knowledge, extract information, pass time relaxed and at
leisure.. But this is possible only if you do it from within. What I mean to
say is enjoy the READ THAT YOU READ or else its total greek and latin to you. Reading
good books will always have a great impact on one’s caliber and personality.
Reading I always felt helps an
individual grow into a more sensible and sensitive human being. He understands
the world and its perspectives wider and also enables him to solve his own problems
maturely. A simple thing like reading your black and white companion
(newspaper) every morning with a steaming cup of tea is the best way to begin
your day.
When I pick up a book and read it,
I just melt into its words and also wonder how authors do it. How do they get
the spark into their writing? But I know that authors just don’t erupt
overnight they have shaped and moulded their lives in such a way over the years
that now they are there to influence thousands and thousands of them through
their writings. The narrative style, the tone and dialogues everything needs to
be considered before writing. This is possible by just one formula – reading,
writing, reading, writing and then there they are, seasoned players in the
field of writing.
I have always said that reading
is my first love, yes it is till date and will always be. Just that it took a
back seat when my son was too young and was always howling for his mamma’s attention
(motherhood is something I enjoy and also on my top list). Though I left books
for a while, books never disowned me. They were always there easily accessible
to me.
So what I have to say in a
nutshell is BOOKS are ones best companions with whom we absolutely have no
issues of arguments, betrayal, hatred and misunderstanding.
REMEMBER-The biggest disrespect to
a book is by having it and yet not reading it.. So what are you waiting for,
just begin…. :)
